What we’ve been up to this past week in ELA and S.S:
We had a busy week with MAP testing , it occupied much of our class time but we were able to get a routine going for classes. Policy and procedure are still being practiced daily and expectations are high, because I know we can reach them!
We continued with text-structures and and have wrapped up the basics of identifying them! We will proceed by writing our own individual texts that we can categorize into one of the five text structures.
We are building our vocabulary with gaining awareness and practice of synonyms and antonyms.
We have been reading daily and keeping a running log of events of the plot of our books. We are also having a mini monthly competition for reading, and students have their game faces on!
We are learning all about Geography and have completed really creative min-posters on major world cities! We will have a gallery walk in class so we can share and learn about what our peers have understood about their major world city.
To help familiarize ourselves with the USA we chased down stick man as he traveled all over the country to evade us, but we found him with some geography deductive reasoning! We will continue to focus on learning the geography of the USA and understanding the push and pull factors that helped form America.
Please continue to check class dojo for daily updates. Looking forward to a great week!
